Position: Administrative Assistant to the Director of APS


The duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

1)      Provide assistance in writing monthly reports and gathering information from the field to complete these reports.
2)      Assist with site visits throughout the country
3)  Write project proposals in conjunction with the director for submission to donors.
4) Assist with logistics (hotel, food, transportation, translation, etc) for various groups of volunteers and donors who visit periodically
5) Liaise with Peace Corps Guatemala in facilitating projects, training, and technical assistance for Peace Corps Healthy Schools program.
6) Maintain donor-partner relations.
7) Other creative projects and initiatives throughout the year.

Requirements:

1)      Fluency in English and Spanish. A Guatemalan national is preferred.
2)      A university degree in Architecture, Civil or Environmental Engineering, Public Health, Administration, or similar degree
3)      Interest in working with water, health, and sanitation projects
4)      Strong ability to communicate clearly and effectively with co-workers, donors, and volunteers in Spanish and English
5)      Strong organizational skills
6)      Willingness to travel to various project sites by public transport to accomplish the above duties
7)      Flexibility and a good sense of humor
8)      Competency in computers, scanners, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)

Salary will be Q3540.00 per month and Q750.00 in expenses for phone, modem/Internet, and incidental expenses for travel and food.  Health and accident insurance not included. Bank account in Ban Rural required.

Preferred applicants will live in or near Antigua with primary area of activity between Tecpan and Chimaltenango. There may be a possibility to live in Xela as well. Area will at times include other areas of Guatemalan highlands as projects demand.

Vacations include Easter week, a week for feria in August, two weeks at Christmas, and US and Guatemalan legal holidays.
