The Fundacion Cultural Duane Carter finances and administers a research and lending library for students from primary school through university level students. It averages more than 3000 library visits a month . Students come from the local Antigua area but also as far away as Tecpan and Guatemala City, the capital of the country.

It is sustained by local merchants and citizens of good will, and popular participation through fund raising activities.
